Paramedics treated a 25-year-old male for suspected leg, shoulder and rib injuries.

He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

"It appears a shoot carrying waste from a construction site had dislodged and fallen on top of the man, pinning him underneath," Inspector Dennis Bungener from NSW Ambulance said.

"Paramedics, Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Police worked together to extricate him from underneath the debris."

"He was very lucky he didn't sustain more serious injuries. It's estimated the shoot weighed around 250 kilograms."

"Bystanders did a fantastic job to look after the patient until emergency services arrived," Inspector Dennis Bungener from NSW Ambulance said.
