Brisbane nurse charged with 46 counts of rape to remain in custody

A Brisbane nurse charged with 46 counts of rape against 21 women will remain in custody.

The 30-year-old did not appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning after being charged with more than 130 new offences yesterday.

The man was arrested in August when detectives investigating the alleged sexual assault of a woman in her early 20s executed a search warrant at a Mary Street address in the CBD.

Several mobile phones and recording equipment were located during the operation and police allege evidence of sexual offences were found on these devices.

Detectives said prescription and illicit drugs were also discovered at the property.

Subsequently, a further 31 victims of alleged sexual assault were identified in relation to incidents across south-east Queensland dating back to 2016.

Detective Inspector Glen Farmer said the man allegedly used social media dating sites to deceptively target his victims.

"It's also alleged he subsequently administered substances and filmed himself engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with his victims," Inspector Farmer said.

"Detectives are continuing work to identify a number of women who they believe may also be victims of this man's alleged predatory behaviour.

"The 30-year-old man has since been charged with more than 135 offences, including 46 counts of rape and 38 counts of observations or recordings in breach of privacy."

Detectives alleged the offences occurred in Bethania, Springwood and the Brisbane CBD between 2016 and 2020.

The man is also facing additional charges relating to computer hacking, distributing intimate images, impersonation and stalking.

Detectives are encouraging anyone who may have any information to contact police.
