Another monolith found in Texas car park

Yet another monolith has mysteriously appeared, this time in a car park in El Paso, Texas.

The silver pillar was discovered on Tuesday night in the city's Upper Valley.

Onlookers gathered for photos with the object near a pizza place, which was quickly taken down and carted away.

Earlier, a Twitter user posted a livestream which showed himself banging on the side of the El Paso monolith. The structure appears to emit a hollow sound.

"That thing is not sturdy at all, it's very tipsy," he says in the livestream.

The first monolith was spotted last month in Utah by a team counting bighorn sheep from a helicopter – and was swiftly removed.

They've also popped up in a Romanian forest, on a Californian mountaintop, in the Netherlands and on a beach off England's South Coast.

It's unknown what their purpose is, or if they are connected.
