Coronavirus exposure sites grow in Victoria

Two new exposure sites have been identified in Victoria after health authorities searched through CCTV to track down the movements of two COVID-positive removalists.

The Caltex service station and Hungry Jack's on the Hume Highway in Kalkallo, north of Melbourne, have been marked as Tier One exposure sites.

Investigations and interviews, understood to be tracking the Sydney removalists, found the trio made a pit-stop on their way down to Victoria on July 8 at the service station between 9.07am and 10.06am.

Anyone who visited the venues at the service station must get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days.

The race to track down exposure sites comes after three local COVID-19 cases were detected in Victoria yesterday.

Other exposure sites of concern include the Mobil Ballan petrol station and the McDonald's Ballan outlet on July 8 between 5pm and 7pm.

COVID-19 Response Commander Jeroen Weimar yesterday said he suspected not everyone had checked-in to the venues, which meant health authorities had to track them down.

The two infected removalists stopped at the servo and McDonald's after leaving a Maribyrnong apartment block before travelling to Adelaide.

Meanwhile, 78 apartments have gone into quarantine after the movers visited the Ariele Apartments complex while infectious on July 8.
