A woman's body has been found after a house fire in Sydney's south-west this morning.
Emergency services were called when the fire engulfed the home Magnolia Place, Macquarie Fields, about 12.45am today.
A 45-year-old woman managed to escape the blaze and told neighbours her mother was still inside.
Two men attempted to enter the home by kicking in the back door but were unsuccessful.
The body of a woman, believed to be in her 70s, was found in the kitchen after the fire was extinguished.
Five people were treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation.
Crime Scene officers and Fire Investigators will examine the scene later today and report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
