A firefighter from Sydney's North Shore has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The person works at Crows Nest, which is in the city's north but not in the Northern Beaches where the new cluster has emerged.
Fire and Rescue NSW said all firefighters who had been with the employee are also being tested, and are isolating until they get their results.
They said they are "currently working closely with NSW Health to identify all contacts."
Three fire stations have been closed for cleaning, with the organisation saying services won't be affected.
Yesterday another case was confirmed outside the Avalon, Northern Beaches cluster, at Bondi Beach. It was one of nine new cases, with all but two linked to the cluster.
Thousands in the area are back in lockdown today after a Christmas reprieve.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian will release today's figures at 11am.
Tens of thousands of people have continued to get tested over Christmas.
However, officials have blasted hundreds of backpackers who partied on Sydney's Bronte Beach on Christmas Day.
