The race that stops the nation will look a little different tomorrow, with COVID-19 restrictions preventing spectators from attending Flemington Racecourse for the 2020 Melbourne Cup.
But despite restrictions being in place, Melburnians are gearing up to celebrate the event in a year like no other.
Here's what Cup Day and the 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival will look like.
Fashions on the Field online
The prestigious fashion event has this year been renamed Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn, with fashionistas set to showcase their style online for the first time.
The national competition will have people pose on their front lawns and then enter their photos online.
The National Final for both the Womens Racewear and Mens Racewear categories will be announced on Oaks Day on November 5 following the virtual judging.
Picnics, parks and gardens
Melburnians are expected to make the most of the sunshine and flock to parks and gardens for picnics.
A top of 29 degrees has been forecast for the city tomorrow, which will likely make it the warmest Cup Day in six years.
Melburnians are allowed to gather outside with up to 10 people under COVID-19 regulations, with just two adults from one household permitted indoors.
The rule means a large number of people will likely opt to celebrate with family and friends outdoors.
A number of pubs, cafes and restaurants are also booked out, meaning parks and gardens will be busier than ever.
Venues booked out
An onslaught of people raced to snap up tables at hospitality venues when restrictions eased last week.
Pub Beer Deluxe at Federation Square is fully booked, along with a stack of others across the city, including The Smith pub in Prahran.
The Smith spokesperson Andrew Croucher said tables were booked out within hours after going on sale for Melbourne Cup Day.
"We sold out very quickly," he told 9News.
"It was only a couple of hours and the tickets were gone."
Newly opened outdoor hospitality site The Commons on St Kilda Road is also set to hold a VIP party.
Federation Square big screen
Melburnians who missed out on a table at the pub will be able to watch the race on the big screen at Federation Square.
People will need to either secure a table at one of the hospitality venues in the square or a socially distanced 'comfort zone' marked by white circles on the turf to watch the race.
