A jockey has been seriously injured in a fall at Rosehill Racecourse in Sydney.
The man fell from a horse and has chest injuries, broken limbs and a broken collarbone, NSW Ambulance said.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
"As with major events like this, we did have paramedics on standby, and they were able to get to the patient quickly," Inspector Andrew McAlphine said.
"The issue with attending this sort of job is the unknown damage that can occur, particularly if a horse treads on you – it can cause significant internal trauma.
"Paramedics did great job in getting to him and treating him quickly – they provided the best care possible."
