Stolen, burnt out luxury car used to smash into store in ATM theft

A luxury SUV has been found burnt out after it was used to smash into a store front in southern New South Wales during an ATM theft.

Police said a stolen Lexus was rammed into the takeaway store on Uriarra Road in Queanbeyan, just out of Canberra, around 1.40am today before two men left the vehicle and entered the shop.

It is alleged the men took the ATM from the scene and fled in the car, which was found fire-damaged along with the cash machine about three kilometres away on Peter Cullen Way in Wright.

An investigation is underway.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
