"I don't understand why Western Australia should be different to any other state and ease their border restrictions at that 80 per cent vaccination rate."
Mr Frydenberg said soaring demand for interstate and international travel showed Australians wanted the entire country to reopen.
"People are desperate to get around our great country particularly as we approach Christmas," he said.
"Unfortunately, for people in Western Australia, they'll have to wait a bit longer."

He said Jetstar had sold 75,000 seats in 72 hours, while Qantas sold 500,000 tickets in two weeks.
"Other states are opening up at those 80 per cent vaccination rates, and of course if people can travel more freely across the country, it's not only a good opportunity for them to catch up with family and friends, but it's also good for the economy as well," Mr Frydenberg said.
He stopped short of backing threats of legal action from the tourism industry, saying it was "a matter for them".
