Police to make William Tyrrell announcement

Police will conduct further searches as the investigation into the 2014 disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell continues.

Investigators will address the media about planned "operational activity" at 10.30am (AEDT) in Sydney.

William, then aged three, disappeared from his foster grandmother's property on Benaroon Drive, Kendall, on the NSW Mid North Coast, at about 10.30am on Friday, September 12, 2014.

Despite a massive search for the little boy, and the investigation continuing, he has never been found.

Over the years police have put pressure on several suspects who have since been ruled out.

But detectives remain confident they'll solve the case.

A $1 million reward for information leading to his recovery remains in place.

In September, on the anniversary of William's disappearance, police returned to the property to conduct fresh examinations.

Detectives inspected the porch, balcony and backyard of the house, pulling out maps as they searched nearby streets.

William's foster grandmother died in March this year.
