Hunt for woman who fled hotel quarantine in South Australia

A search is underway for a woman who fled a South Australian medi-hotel, where she was meant to be isolating in line with border restrictions, after she allegedly gave police a false ID.

According to police, the woman absconded from an Adelaide medi-hotel about 7.45pm last night after she was taken to the accommodation upon arriving in the state from Darwin.

Police allege she provided false identification to police to enter South Australia.

They are calling for the public's help to track down the woman.

She was last seen wearing the same outfit as in the CCTV image police have released.

It is believed the woman may have gotten into a taxi near the intersection of Pulteney Street and Rundle Mall, Adelaide.

Anyone who knows the woman's identity or her whereabouts, or any taxi or any other private passenger services who might have transported her, is asked to contact police immediately on 131 444.

Police have advised the woman tested negative to COVID-19 on arrival in SA.
