Spike in exposure sites in Melbourne's north as 128 new cases recorded in area

A childcare centre, apartment tower and multiple food stores are among a series of new Tier One sites in Melbourne's north added to Victoria's list of COVID-19 exposure sites.

The sites have been put on the list of more than 950 exposure sites as the state recorded almost 128 new COVID-19 cases in Melbourne's northern suburbs in the past 24 hours.

In Coburg, Kids on the Avenue Children's Centre has been dubbed a Tier One site for most of the day for each day between August 26 and August 29.

COVID-19 testing in Newcomb, Geelong, Victoria.

An apartment complex at 221/19 Pentridge Boulevard, Coburg has also been ruled a Tier One site between midday and 2pm on both August 28 and 29.

Roxburgh Park's Tiba's Restaurant has also been dubbed a Tier One site at different times on five days between August 23 and August 30.

The same is the case for Sacca's Fruit World in Broadmeadows Central between 2pm and 4pm on August 14.

In Tullamarine, Nantak Kitchens has been declared a Tier One site between 6.30am and 3.30pm on Monday.

COVID-19 Commander Jeroen Weimar said the new COVID-19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours were mainly in Craigieburn, Dallas, Roxburgh Park, Broadmeadows and Glenroy.

However, there are cases and exposure sites right across Melbourne and the state.

A construction site at 35 Hancock Street, Southbank has been deemed a Tier One site between 2.20pm and 6pm on August 27, as has a CBD fertility clinic at 1 Collins Street in the CBD between 8am and 6.30pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Anyone who visited a Tier One site is required to get tested for COVID-19 urgently and quarantine for 14 days.
