A police probe has been ordered to investigate why a couple travelling from Victoria to Roma was forced to travel 500km into hotel quarantine in Brisbane.
The investigation comes after 9News broke the story of Robert Legg and Robyn Anderson, who said they had been treated like "criminals" after being given mixed quarantine messaging.
The couple was given the green light to relocate to their new regional Queensland home on July 16, but were ordered into quarantine in Brisbane after being told they had breached a health order.

Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said he was aware of Mr Legg and Ms Anderson's situation and asked for a "complete briefing" on their experience to figure out what went wrong.
"I'm aware, so I have asked for a complete briefing on the circumstances around that," Deputy Commissioner Gollschewski said.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young defended Queensland's quarantine process.
"I am very comfortable with our process," Dr Young said.
"We don't need test results - test results are too late - please, no one out there rely on test results."
Opposition Leader David Crisafulli slammed the couple's treatment.
"I tell you what I saw - I didn't see rule-breakers, I saw a couple of battlers trying to do the right thing," Mr Crisafulli said.
Speaking from their seventh day of hotel quarantine today, Ms Anderson said the couple wasn't doing "too bad".
"A bit stressful; I know Rob's blood pressure is starting to play up, which is not good for him," she said.
"I'm getting there slowly - If I don't laugh, I'll cry at the moment."
Police and Queensland Health are expected to have the outcome of their investigation by tomorrow.
