NSW Premier flags new freedoms for vaccinated residents

Vaccinated New South Wales residents are set to enjoy new freedoms in September, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has flagged.

It comes after the state has hit a milestone of six million COVID-19 vaccine doses.

Ms Berejiklian will make an announcement on Thursday or Friday. She said "conversations are still being held" to see if people living in hotspot LGAs will also be offered those freedoms.

The Premier said she was "deeply grateful" for everyone who has been vaccinated so far.

"Thank you to everybody who has stepped up and got the jab," she said.

"That equates to 60 per cent of our population across the state with at least one dose and around 30 per cent of the population double dosed.

"It is an amazing milestone."

More to come.
