Two people have been airlifted to hospital and several horses have been killed in a crash in the NSW Hunter Region
NSW Police said the crash happened about 6.30am this morning near Muswellbrook after the livestock truck ran into a tree.
The "serious crash" had closed the Golden Highway at Jerrys Plains, near Singleton and 200km north of Sydney.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said they were still establishing the details of the accident, amid reports the five animals killed were prized racehorses.
The driver, a 62-year-old man, and a 59-year-old male passenger were treated at the scene by paramedics, before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
All five of the horses that were being transported in the vehicle died as a result of the collision.
