Bizarre video has emerged of a man taking his clothes and shoes off and throwing them in and out of a washing machine over and over at a Gold Coast laundromat.

Police were called to the Pimpama City Shopping Centre just after 8pm to reports of a suspected stolen car being driven into a window.

The man took off on foot and was found by officers 20 minutes later going through the drive through of a fast food outlet.

Security guard Wayne Heneker told 9News he came across the man while on his regular patrols.

"Well he looked like he was having a good time. I've never seen someone so excted in a laundromat before," Mr Heneker said.
