Mysterious tree animal turns out to be a croissant

A Polish animal welfare society received a call about a mysterious animal stuck in a tree that was in fact a croissant.

The Krakow Society for the Protection of Animals (KSPA) was called by a concerned resident who said a creature had been stuck in a tree opposite her block for two days.

"Come and get him!" the woman reportedly told KPSA on the phone.

"People do not open windows because they are afraid that it will enter their home!"

"Everyone is afraid of him."

A KSPA inspector tried to determine what the animal was and even suspected it was a prank.

However, he checked his calendar and realised it was not April Fool's Day.

They suspected it was an iguana.

The inspectors arrived in the street and inspected the tree from a distance.

"It is difficult to help something when the sight of it almost knocks us off our feet... an attack of laughter," KSPA said.

"This mysterious lagoon - the iguana turned out to be... a croissant, a croissant made of puff pastry.

"It probably fell out of one of the windows."

The animal inspector speculated the pastry was left out for the birds.

"He was sitting there and looked quite nice, he liberated his imagination, took on reptilian features," KSPA said.

"He was almost moving, he was getting ready to invade, he was beginning to resemble a dragon child."

The animal inspectors took the seemingly unbelievable series of events to educate their Facebook followers.

"It is better to check and be pleasantly disappointed, sometimes (unfortunately very rarely) to laugh than not to react, which can sometimes lead to a tragedy," they said.
