Sydneysiders and Canberrans pulled on their winter coats today as both cities woke up to their coldest mornings of the year.
Sydney dropped into single digits, recording 9.6 degrees, while Canberra plunged below zero, with the mercury sitting at -2.6 degrees.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) was forecasting a cold morning across New South Wales today, with clear skies and cold air after the cold front of the weekend.

Bright sunshine was expected to help the morning thaw but maximum temperatures were forecast to be around five degrees below the April average.
Sydney is forecast to reach 21 degrees today.

The BoM said Canberra was "frosty" this morning with temperatures falling to -2.6 degrees at the airport, adding it was "almost one for the April record books".
Canberra will warm up to 17 degrees today, forecasters said.
