Jordan Morrison was high on ice when he went on a rampage at the Mawson Lakes Hotel, stabbing an innocent man and threatening to kill a taxi driver with a 20cm kitchen knife.
The then-20-year-old arrived in a stolen car and was attempting to steal cash to pay his drug debts in October 2019.

He stormed the gaming room and punched a security guard in the head while patrons did anything they could to stop him.
But Morrison got away, terrorising the waiting taxi driver, bashing him behind the wheel and holding the knife to his throat.
Morrison then managed to elude police for the next four days.

Justice Rauf Soulio today told the court the stabbing victim was fortunate to be alive.
Morrison has since written apology letters, the judge accepting his remorse as sincere and genuine.
The court heard Morrison began his drug addiction at 11 years old and lacked a moral compass.

He was charged with a long list of offences, all of which he pleaded guilty to and today was sentenced to seven and a half years jail with a non-parole period of almost four years.
After sentencing Morrison, Justice Soulio told him he would send his remarks to correctional services in the hope the 22-year-old would be given access to drug rehabilitation and education, so he can have a chance at living a proper life outside prison walls.
