A man has been charged following a seven-hour siege in Sydney's south yesterday.
Police were called to Eastlakes, yesterday morning after concerns were raised over a man's welfare at an apartment on Universal Street.
A full-scale police operation including the Tactical Operations Unit and negotiators unfolded over the course of the day, with residents warned to stay indoors while police conducted searches of several properties in the area.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at a nearby apartment just after 4pm and taken into police custody.
Police executed two search warrants at premises in Eastlakes and Redfern with officers seizing a replica firearm, a samurai sword, handwritten notes, and a mobile phone.
The man has since been charged with possessing illegal weapons and is due to appear before the court today.
