Aussies warned not to buy from online pharmacy

Australians have been warned not to deal with an online pharmacy after several consumers did not receive the goods they paid for and could not seek financial redress.

The public warning came from the NSW Fair Trading Commissioner Rose Webb for shoppers not to deal with discountephramacy.com.au (Trading as "Discount E Pharmacy").

Ms Webb said the warning comes following a rise in complaints from consumers about not receiving goods paid for.

Discount E Pharmacy sells a number of health-related products including pregnancy tests, weight loss vitamins and detox drinks.

"Consumers report that their pre-paid items do not arrive and claim that no explanation is provided by the trader for these delays, and that there is no financial redress offered," Ms Webb said in her warning.

"Consequently, consumers have to seek a chargeback option from their banks where payments have been made via credit card.

"Consumers have reported finding it very difficult to contact anyone at discountepharmacy.com.au to discuss the delays, and there does not appear to be a complaint handling process, making it difficult for concerns to be resolved."
