The federal health minister has hosed down concerns about one of the coronavirus vaccines after Germany said it was not recommended for people over 65.
Greg Hunt today assured that any vaccine approved for use in Australia, including the AstraZeneca shot, will be thoroughly vetted before being administered.
"Our approach will be led by what we believe will be the best medical regulator in the world, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, they are strong, they are independent, they are fearless, they are exactly what you want, they are thorough and we will be guided by them and their judgements."

He also confirmed Australia has had 12 consecutive days without any local transmission of the virus.
"Significantly, zero lives lost and zero patients in ICU with COVID-19 in Australia," Mr Hunt said.
"So that is a really important outcome."
He said in the rest of the world, more than 630,000 cases had been reported and 17,422 people died from the disease in the past 24 hours.
"Sadly, the number of lives lost is continuing to grow because they reflect the cases two and three weeks ago in many circumstances," Mr Hunt said.
"All up, 101 million cases diagnosed around the world and over 2.18 million lives lost.
"All of that puts into perspective the great challenges that we have had in Australia and while it has been difficult, we have been mercifully spared the trauma and agony on such a massive scale from around the world."
