Charged Lamborghini driver claims video of him going at 342km/hr 'fake'

A Lamborghini driver has been charged after police were alerted to a social media video showing him apparently travelling up to an incredible 342km/h in the US.

Indiana State Police said the video had been posted on November 18 last year, the Indy Star reported.

The video allegedly shows a black Lamborghini on an interstate highway in Indiana. After stopping, the driver hits the accelerator, passing multiple vehicles at high speeds.

Gabriel Sleiman, 33, has been charged with reckless driving.

Mr Sleiman allegedly told police the car was his but that it could not reach such high speeds, and that his online videos were fakes.

He is due to appear in court in April.
