The Homicide Squad is investigating after a body was found inside a burnt-out car in Sydney's south-west overnight.
Emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on the Hume Road in Smithfield, near Parramatta, at around 6pm yesterday.
After Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, police discovered the body of a man inside.

The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 20s.
The crime scene is being examined by specialist forensic officers and the Homicide Squad has been called in to assist detectives with the investigation.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but it is being treated as suspicious.
