A man accused of killing his seven week old son by shaking him before returning to playing video games in Victoria has pleaded guilty to child homicide.
Joseph McDonald was charged with the murder of his baby son, Lucas in November last year, after fleeing the hospital where his dying child was being treated for serious injuries.
The infant was initially taken to hospital at Benalla in the state's northeast with life-threatening injuries before being transferred to the Monash Children's hospital, from where McDonald ran away.
McDonald eventually handed himself in to police after investigators released footage of him requesting him to come forward.
He appeared at the Supreme Court in person today where he pleaded guilty to child homicide.
More to come...
