Queensland's safety regulator investigates two more incidents at Dreamworld

Dreamworld is once again under investigation by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) after its parent company referred two incidents to the regulator.

Ardent Leisure notified the safety authority after a ride engineer narrowly escaped injury while performing maintenance work on the Pandemonium ride.

It's understood one of the ride's three three tonne arms fell, but missed the worker.

Dreamworld also said a "minor event" involving a patron occurred on the Triple Vortex slide at WhiteWater World last Saturday.

WHSQ said it was continuing to investigate both matters.

"Workplace Health and Safety Queensland confirms that Ardent Leisure has recently notified it of a near-miss incident during maintenance on the Pandemonium ride and another minor incident last Saturday where a patron was cleared of any serious injury after riding the Triple Vortex tube slide," a statement said.

"To ensure patron and worker safety, WHSQ has taken action and continues to investigate these matters."

The incidents come after an eight-year-old girl had to be rushed to hospital after suffering serious internal injuries on the Fully6 waterslide last month.

In a statement, Dreamworld said its relationship with WHSQ remains open and transparent.

"We reported an event to WHSQ which occurred in our Engineering Centre during scheduled maintenance, are working cooperatively with them and have received confirmation that they are satisfied with our actions," the statement reads.

"We acknowledge a minor event that took place on the Triple Vortex slide at WhiteWater World and we confirm that a notice was not issued by WHSQ.

"WHSQ have advised they are satisfied with our actions in relation to this matter."

In September this year, Ardent Leisure was fined $3.6 million over the Thunder River Rapids ride tragedy.

The operators of Dreamworld pleaded guilty to three charges relating to the deaths of four people in 2016 at the Gold Coast theme park.

Cindy Low, Kate Goodchild, Luke Dorsett and his partner Roozi Araghi died when their raft on the Thunder River Rapids Ride collided with an empty raft and flipped on October 25, 2016.
