Kmart pulls popular Christmas wreath from shelves

A Christmas wreath has been pulled from the shelves of Kmart stores over biosecurity fears.

The retail giant has issued a recall for the Half Wicker Wreath with Berries, which was sold online and in store in Australia and New Zealand from September 26 to December 7 this year.

The wreath is made with foliage and berries.

"The treatment given to this product has been determined to have been ineffective and it may contain unwanted organisms that could affect plants native to the country," New Zealand's Product Recalls website said.

"The product could potentially pose a risk to native flora.

"Customers should cease using their product immediately and return the product to any Kmart store for a full refund."

The wicker is no longer available online from Kmart Australia.

The wreath is also listed as unavailable on Kmart Australia' website.

The latest recall comes after Kmart pulled one of its baby bouncers from the market last week.

The ANKO Gravity Bouncer was recalled because of the risk it could pose a risk to young children.

"If the locking clip between the base of the seat and the stand is not correctly released prior to folding, damage could occur to the product, resulting in possible collapse upon subsequent uses," Product Safety Australia said on its website.
