A young boy drowned in a pool in Hobart on the weekend.
The four-year-old was found unresponsive in his family's above-ground pool in the front yard of their Bridgewater home at about 4.30pm on Saturday, police said in a statement today.
The boy could not be revived and died at the scene.
"This is a tragic reminder of the importance of ensuring pools have adequate fences in accordance with local government by-laws, and that children are always supervised when around pools," the police statement read.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
