That the eyes of the world are on the US right now is not surprising – but what might surprise you is who's watching most keenly.
A Google Trends report listed the top trending search relating to the US election in the past 24 hours was made in Chinese.

It was followed by similar searches in Turkish and "Persian" – ie, Farsi, spoken largely in Iran. All three countries have notoriously febrile relationships with the US and the West more broadly.
Coming in fourth was an English-language search, followed by German.
A Google Trends' map of the top countries searching for "US Presidential election 2020" showed Cuba in the lead, followed by Haiti, Germany, Ethiopia and Ghana.
In the US itself, meanwhile, top trending searches in the past 24 hours include "live election results", "Dixville Notch", and "exit polls".
