Meteorite that crashed through Indonesian man's roof worth millions

An Indonesian man has had millions of dollars literally fall out of the sky for him.

Coffin-maker Josua Hutagalung, who lives in Sumatra, was reportedly working at home in August when he heard a loud roar overhead and then a huge bang.

A video clip on his Facebook page shows him going around the side of his house, where he found a hole in his roof and a strange rock buried in a newly-struck hole.

The New York Post reported that the meteorite, which was estimated to be 4.5 billion years old, was made of an extremely rare material.

Composed of CM1/2 carbonaceous chondrite, the space rock ended up being valued at more than $2.5 million.

It has since been sold to a US collector.

Mr Hutagalung said part of the money would be used to build a church for his community.

He said he hoped it was also a sign his family would soon be blessed with a daughter.
