More than five million Aussies are set to benefit from another $250 coronavirus payment just in time for Christmas.
Known as the "Economic Support Payments", the new cash splash exists as two $250 payments – one to be paid in December 2020 and the other to be paid in March 2021.

Who is eligible for the economic support payment?
The $250 support payment is only paid to some Australians – it is not a blanket payment that everyone receives.
Generally, you will receive the payment if you receive the age pension, a carer allowance, a carer payment, if you have a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card or a Disability Support Pension.
You'll also receive it if you currently get a Double Orphan Pension, a Family Tax Benefit or hold a Pensioner Concession Card.
You need to get an eligible payment or have an eligible card by November 27, 2020 (you cannot access it after the fact).

How much is the economic support payment?
The economic support payments is a $500 sum divided into two $250 payments.
When do you receive the coronavirus economic support payment?
The first sum of $250 will be paid from today (December 2020) while the second $250 payment will start hitting eligible bank accounts from March 2021.

How do I access my $250 payment for December?
If you are eligible for the payment, you don't need to do anything: it will be automatically paid into your account.
There are a few caveats: to get the December payment you need to be in the country and eligible by November 27, 2020.
If you don't get an eligible payment or concession card, you typically won't get the Economic Support Payment.
