Highest residences in Southern Hemisphere unveiled

The highest residences in the Southern Hemisphere have been unveiled, taking luxury apartment living to new heights in Melbourne.

The sky-high apartments are nestled among the clouds, sitting between 210 and 319 metres above ground, boasting stunning views of the CBD and beyond.

Australia 108's 161 premium Cloud Residences are located in the heart of Southbank on Southbank Boulevard, with some price tags for abodes skyrocketing above $5 million.

The tower in some cases looks down on the Eureka Tower, formerly Melbourne's tallest building.

World Class Global developer CEO David Ng said Australia 108's highest residences offered views from a height that is unmatched anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere.

"Australia 108's highest Cloud Residence apartments form a bridge between the earth and sky," he said.

"When the clouds roll in, these homes enter what feels like another realm.

"A sky that seems grey at street level is revealed as a misty dreamland for our residents. It is a truly breathtaking spectacle.

"Residences of this height are unlikely to be repeated in Australia again soon, making Australia 108 a truly unique proposition in the market."

A collection of four limited edition Nova sub-penthouses located on level 97 offer three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartments spanning up to 202 square metres for prices between $4.7 and $5.5 million.

Purchasers of Cloud Residences and Nova sub-penthouses also get access to a private infinity pool, gym, dining rooms, cinema and a platinum lounge.

Carr Design director Chris McCue said the firm aimed to create the same attention-to-detail, internal amenity and focus typical in multi-million-dollar homes.

"The task was to create something really unique for Melbourne in an apartment offer that really hadn't been done before," he said.

"The Cloud Residences are really houses in the sky so we certainly took the approach that they should take on more of a bespoke quality as we would when designing a private house."
