A special police operation is underway in the Inner Brisbane suburb of Paddington, with officers negotiating with a man allegedly making threats who may be armed.
Officers were called to a property on Alma Street just after 12.30pm today after reports a man was inside making threats.
An entire block has been closed off to the public with anyone nearby urged to stay away from Alma Street and indoors if possible.
All premises enclosed by McCartney Street, Alma Street, Hebert Street and Eilena Street are affected by the police issued Public Safety Preservation Act declaration.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to stay away.
