Ben Cousins jailed for stalking his former partner

Former AFL star Ben Cousins has been jailed for seven months for stalking his former partner.

Cousins has been behind bars since April, which means he will have served his full term in 15 days.

He was found not guilty of 20 counts of breaching a Violence Restraining Order (VRO).

The former West Coast player has been behind bars since April when he was refused bail.

Magistrate Brian Mahon said at the time it gave him "no pleasure" to conclude there were no conditions he could impose that would stop Cousins from offending if he was released on bail.

The 41-year-old has battled issues with methamphetamine and has been in and out of jail in recent years.
