More almond milks recalled due to contamination fears

Another brand of almond milk has been recalled due to concerns it may potentially be contaminated with a harmful microbial.

Freedom Foods issued the recall for their Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Milk, after a similar warning about their MILKLAB Almond Milk one litre range from earlier this week.

The recalled items may contain traces of bacteria pseudomonas – which could make you seriously ill if consumed.

The Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Almond Milk is available in Coles and Woolworths stores across NSW, Queensland, SA, Victoria and WA, and Coles stores in Tasmania.

MILKLAB Almond Milk is available at various coffee shops and food outlets nationwide.

The recall is for Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate Almond Milk one litre cartons with a best before date of April 27, 2021.

The MILKLAB recall is for their one litre almond milk cartons with best before dates: June 18,2021/ July 1, 2021/ July 20, 2021/ July 29, 2021/ August 8, 2021.

The MILKLAB recall includes an earlier announcement about one litre cartons of MILKLAB Almond Milk, sold in SA, with best before date August 6, 2021.

Anyone who purchased any of the above items with any of those expiry dates is encouraged to bring the item back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The alert comes after supermarket chain Aldi warned of a potential microbial contamination in their one litre Inner Goodness UHT Almond Milk with a use-by date of April 18, 2021.

A similar recall also exists for the Aldi one litre variety of the Inner Goodness UHT Soy Milk carrying a best before date of March 12, 2021.
