The locally acquired case worked at the hospital while potentially infectious.

The worker cared for patients with COVID-19 and further investigation is underway to identify how the infection was acquired.

NSW Health has confirmed contact tracing is underway.

Health authorities have also advised that testing of the case reported in Murrumbidgee local health district on Thursday has determined it was a false positive and therefore not a case and has been excluded from case numbers.

There is now a total of 4009 coronavirus cases in NSW.
