School formals and graduations could still go ahead in NSW during term four, the premier has flagged.
Gladys Berejiklian said today the restrictions applied to "milestone events" currently only apply to term three, and she anticipates by term four there could be a "safe way" to go ahead.
"If we keep virus numbers low, my expectation is that all students across the state will be able to have important milestone ceremonies, and that is something we all feel very strongly about."

She said the health advice will be reviewed in term four, but reminded people that progress needs to happen "one step at a time".
"As we've said from day one the health advice around school formals and milestone events only apply to term three, and that's because we don't want to have to issue alerts where schools have been closed down or exams have been disrupted," Ms Berejiklian said.
"…My anticipation is there will be a safe way of having those events in term four."
When asked whether NSW families will be able to holiday in Queensland in the upcoming school holidays, Ms Berejiklian encouraged people to head to regional NSW instead.
"That's a matter for the Queensland Premier but I doubt we will see any movement on that until at least late October," Ms Berejiklian said.
On what Christmas during a pandemic would look like, the premier said each week she is feeling "more and hopeful and confident about where NSW is" after a "really risky" six weeks.
"Christmas, I am hoping will be a positive time for the people of NSW and I hope it will a time when we can all look back on 2020 and say we survived it, and that 2021 that will be bigger and better."
