A man has been shot by police after charging at officers with a shovel in Victoria's west last night.
Police attended the Waurn Ponds property, near Geelong, on Willesden Drive just before midnight after receiving a noise complaint.
An armed man confronted police with a shovel upon arrival, forcing an officer to fire their gun.
"When officers arrived, they were confronted by a man who was armed with a tool," a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
"The male charged at police and an officer discharged their firearm, shooting the man in the lower body."
Footage captured by 9News shows a man being taken into an ambulance on a stretcher by paramedics.
The 46-year-old was taken to hospital in a stable condition with a gunshot wound.
The shooting comes after a former Leading Senior Constable was shot by police in Werribee on Monday.
Armed Crime Squad detectives will investigate the incident, which will be oversighted by Professional Standards Command, as per standard protocol when a police firearm is discharged.
