A man has been fined for playing Pokémon Go in Melbourne under another COVID-19 restriction breach.
Victoria Police revealed 172 infringements had been issued in the past 24 hours to people who flouted the chief health officer's stay-at-home directives.
The Pokémon player, who lived in Sunshine, was found playing the game in Melbourne's CBD and was issued a $1652 fine.

Other fines included a woman who attempted to travel to Bendigo from Southern Cross Station; a Keilor man intercepted by police in the Surf Coast - who admitted to travelling there on Friday and staying at his holiday home; two men at a fast food outlet in Hobsons Bay who told police they stayed at a friend's house in Altona overnight and a group of people who celebrated a birthday at a short-term rental in Point Cook.
A total of 27 people were also fined for failing to wear a mask. There were also 22 infringements issued at vehicle checkpoints and 4366 spot checks were undertaken across the state.

Premier Daniel Andrews has hinted of possible harsher penalties to come for those who breached restrictions, including people who did not self-isolate after testing positive to COVID-19.
It comes as tougher stage four restrictions have come into effect across metropolitan Melbourne.
"There'll be more for us to say about enforcement, about fines, about the penalties and the processes to hold people to account if they're not doing the right thing," he said yesterday.
