A Victorian boy was on holidays in NSW when his family was told he had tested positive for coronavirus.
The teenager's family all underwent COVID-19 tests before leaving Victoria for a trip to Merimbula on the NSW South Coast.
They had all been cleared, but Victoria Health later determined the teen's test had been erroneous, and he was positive.

The family are now in isolation in Merimbula.
The family attended an event at the Tathra Hotel.
"Tathra Hotel did have a safety plan," NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said.
"The risk to other patrons has been assessed as very low."

Eighty people who were at the hotel are in the process of being contacted and are advised to be tested.
The family was from a part of Victoria which wasn't considered a coronavirus hotspot when they left for their holiday.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the family had done the right thing.
"They got tested in Victoria, they were told they were negative, and then they were rung up to be told, 'sorry, the test was wrong'," Ms Berejiklian said.
Dr Chant said the family's behaviour has been exemplary.
"At that time they were under the impression that the test was negative," Dr Chant said.
"They did exactly what we wanted people to do."

Eight people in NSW have tested positive for coronavirus, with seven in hotel quarantine.
The eighth person is a woman in her thirties, who lives in Sydney's southwest.
Her close contacts, including some staff at Liverpool Hospital, are now going into isolation.
Two possible cases in Albury are still being investigated.
The teenager is not considered a NSW case.
