The coronavirus restrictions easing from tomorrow

More coronavirus restrictions will ease across Australia from tomorrow with businesses reopening in four states.

QUEENSLAND

Queensland has brought forward the easing of COVID-19 restrictions by almost two weeks.

From midday tomorrow, gatherings of up to 20 people will be allowed including inside pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Travel within Queensland is also back on but for residents within the state only.

"We are opening up Queensland for Queenslanders," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.

But interstate borders will remain closed.

"Let me make it very clear, the border will remain closed for the month of June," she added.

NEW SOUTH WALES

In NSW, 50 people will be allowed in pubs, clubs, cafes from Monday while beauty salons will open to 10 clients at a time.

Restrictions have eased on the number of guests permitted at weddings, with 20 now on the list. Up to 50 can attend funerals and places of worship.

Regional travel is also back on the cards with camping grounds and caravan parks reopening from tomorrow.

For businesses on the state's south coast, 2020 has been the worst year on record for trade with many closing their doors in December due to bushfires.

The government has today launched a major advertising blitz, vying for the $16 million the state's residents usually spend travelling abroad.

The Now it's Time to Love New South Wales campaign will also be rolled out in Victoria and the ACT and other states when border bans are lifted.

VICTORIA

In Victoria, indoor and outdoor gatherings will be increased to 20 people from Monday.

This applies to cafes, restaurants, beauty salons, tattoo parlours, museums, public libraries and outdoor gyms.

The maximum of wedding guests will rise from 10 to 20, with up to 50 at outdoor funerals.

There are changes to restrictions around sport, cafes, restaurants and social gatherings.

At eateries, the requirements demand 1.5m between tables and collection of patrons' contact details to assist in rapid contract tracing should any become unwell with the virus.

People will also be permitted to stay in holiday homes and attend tourist accommodation such as caravan parks and camping grounds.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Stage two easing of restrictions have been brought forward to June 1 to allow up to 50 people to attend funerals, up to 80 in large hospitality venues and up to 20 people in cinemas, theatres, museums, beauty salons, gyms and indoor fitness centres.

Dining and drinking at cafes and restaurants is allowed, currently with up to 10 customers indoors and 10 outdoors.

Customers will be permitted to drink alcohol without having to buy food.

People are seen having coffee on the Parade in Norwood, Adelaide. Cafes are now allowed to serve coffee and food outside with the ease Covid-19 restrictions in Adelaide, Monday, May 11, 2020
