Snow has begun falling in parts of the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, as winter arrives early due to a low pressure system across Australia's east bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to large parts of the state.
Dashcam footage captured the dusting of snow in Blackheath and Mount Victoria, not far from the region's iconic tourist hub of Katoomba.
Overnight, the State Emergency Service had 100 calls for help mostly for damaged and leaking roofs.
A deep low in the Tasman is generating large swells, powerful winds and areas of heavy rain over eastern parts of NSW.
The falls began on Thursday afternoon and heavy rain will continue throughout much of today, with up to 60mm likely across Sydney and localised falls of over 100mm possible.

Significant wave heights are expected to reach five to six metres between the Eden and Macquarie coasts.

It'll be a wet day in South Australia with the wet weather extending across Adelaide along with chilly temperatures and rain likely to remain throughout the weekend.
Showers are easing across Victoria today after two days of wild weather that saw freak storms wreak havoc in Geelong, with some residents describing the conditions as a mini-tornado.
But the rain is expected to return on Saturday with temperatures reaching just 15 degrees.

According to Weatherzone, a tropical low pressure system is developing northwest of the Cocos Islands, a remote territory of Australia off the west coast.
There's a moderate chance it may become a tropical cyclone today, moving southeast to Western Australia at the weekend.
It is not expected to still be classified as a tropical cyclone when it reaches the coast, including Perth, however heavy rain, large swell and high winds are expected on Sunday and Monday.
