Slack goes down, sending coronavirus home workers into spin

Slack, one of the corporate world's most popular messaging systems, has suffered a mass outage.

According to Slack Status, a Twitter account that monitors the instant messaging tool, global users have been unable to connect to Slack.

Some users reported problems sending and receiving messages just before 10am AEST.

With much of the global workforce confined to home during the pandemic, tools like Slack and Zoom have become vital.

Slack's corporate website, slack.com, was also down this morning, showing a 503 Service Unavailable error message.

In March, Slack reported 12.5 million users, as people flocked to use the tool as offices shut down.
