Screams heard before woman, 27, found stabbed to death at Sydney home

A man has been arrested over the fatal stabbing of his wife in Sydney's north-west last night.

The victim's brother called police, who arrived at the home on Ramona Street in Quakers Hill about 6.30pm.

The 27-year-old woman was found with knife wounds and died at the scene.

A man, known to the woman, was arrested and taken to hospital, before he was transferred to a police station.

Her husband, 31, was arrested in the hallway outside a bedroom and taken to Blacktown Hospital, where he was treated for cuts.

He has since been taken to Riverstone Police Station.

Police will allege the husband assaulted and fatally wounded his wife.

Superintendent Jennifer Scholz said today the wife had an AVO out against her husband but they were still living in the same house and sleeping in the same bedroom.

Neighbours said they heard screams at the home last night.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Inquiries are continuing.
